Hanoi Re was honored to co-host the “Earthquake Insurance – Underwriting & Claims Seminar” in collaboration with the Myanmar Insurance Association (MIA).

The seminar was honored by the presence of senior officials from the Ministry of Planning and Finance (MoPF), responsible for overseeing the insurance sector, alongside Chairpersons, CEOs, and senior executives from Myanmar’s leading life and non-life insurance companies. This exceptional gathering demonstrated the strong commitment of Myanmar’s insurance regulators and market leaders to improving technical resilience and strengthening preparedness against earthquake risks.

Hanoi Re’s delegates, Mr. Tran Quang Thao (General Manager, Risk Engineering & Claims Division) and Mr. Do Van Linh (Facultative Underwriter for Myanmar market), delivered technical presentations on earthquake underwriting and claims handling, sharing both practical frameworks and international experiences tailored to the Myanmar context.

The event provided an open platform for dialogue, technical exchange, and collaboration. Many participants expressed their appreciation for the relevance of the discussions, especially amid increasing earthquake exposures in the region. Hanoi Re was also honored to receive a certificate of appreciation from MIA, recognizing our continued support.
