Meeting in Celebration of the 10th Anniversary of MONGOLIA RE

On the 10th anniversary event of Mongolia Re, Ms. Ho Phuong Anh, General Manager of Division 2 at Hanoi Reinsurance Corporation (Hanoi Re), has visited and met with representatives from Mongolia Re and other insurance and reinsurance companies in the Mongolian market.

During her visit to Mongolia Re, Ms. Phuong Anh conveyed warm greetings from Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan, CEO of Hanoi Re, to Mr. Batmunkhi Javkhlant, CEO of Mongolia Re, and also extended congratulations on the Company’s journey of 10 years establishment and growth.

As part of the 10th-anniversary event, the “Resilient Mongolia International Forum 2024” held on August 15, 2024, organized by Mongolia Re,has garnered significant attention from the international finance and insurance community. The forum was attended by Mongolia’s Minister of Finance, Mr. Boldyn Javkhlan, along with officials from disaster risk management agencies in Mongolia, and several speakers from other insurance and reinsurance companies such as SCOR, Belarus Re, SGI, and Hanoi Re. The forum discussions focused on three main topics:

1. Enhancing Mongolia’s Disaster Resilience: This session provided a comprehensive overview of tools and solutions in disaster risk management, focusing on initiatives like IBLIP and Parametric Insurance. The goal was to improve Mongolia’s preparedness and response to future disasters.
2. The Role of National Reinsurance in Emerging Markets: This discussion centered on exploring the critical role of reinsurance in the development of the insurance industry in emerging markets, including an analysis of how national reinsurance companies support and promote the growth of domestic insurance markets.
3. Guarantee and bond: This session evaluated the current situation and future development trends of the guarantee and bond sector in Mongolia, with updates from leading industry experts.

As a guest speaker, Hanoi Re has presented on the vital role of reinsurance in developing countries and shared experiences from Vietnam’s reinsurance market, which is rapidly growing and shares many similarities with Mongolia.

The visiting not only provided a valuable opportunity for in-depth discussions on advanced reinsurance solutions but also helped foster mutual understanding and opened up potential collaboration between Vietnam and Mongolia, particularly between Hanoi Re and the Mongolian insurance and reinsurance market in the near future.
