PetroVietnam keeps up fulfillment of targets and development pace in the first 9 months of 2014

On 10/08/2014, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group has organized a press conference at 2 locations in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Chaired the meeting has Mr. Nguyen Xuan Son – Party Secretary, Chairman and Group member and Mr. Le Minh Hong – Deputy General Manager Group.

Attending the press conference were Mr. Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Group, Comrade Members of the Council members, Board of Director of the Group, representing the Board Leadership / Group Office, which represents the social organizations of the Group with more than 100 journalists in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

At the press conference, Mr. Le Minh Hong, Deputy General Manager, Group spokesman has information to journalists about the results of operations of the Group in the first 9 months of the focus and direction of activities at 3 months last year.

As a result, in the first 9 months of 2014, the Group completed all targets, increasing oil and gas reserves 9 months reached 28.53 million tons of oil equivalent, with 81.5% of the plan years. There are 05 new oil and gas discoveries and PetroVietnam has 3 singed new oil and gas contracts. Total production of oil reached 20.34 million tons 9 months, of which crude oil output reached 12.71 million tons, gas production reached 7.64 billion exploitation m3. PVN has produced and supplied to the national grid 11.92 billion kWh, producing 1.23 million tons of nitrogen and 4.06 million tons of fuel types.

Total sales of all units in the Group 9 months reached 560.1 trillion dong, equal to 119.5% of target 9 months and 84% for the year. State budget of the Corporation was 125.5 trillion, equal to 124% of plan 9 months and 89% for the year.

At the press conference, Chairman Nguyen Xuan Son and leaders of the Group, heads of Divisions and member units of the Group answered many questions of the journalists concerning the important issues such as roadmaps and practical implementation of the Group restructuring project; plan for restructuring affiliates, subsidiaries of the units under the Group; the major oil and gas projects: Blue whale, Junin2, Thai Binh 2 Thermal Power Plant, upgrading and expanding Dung Quat Oil Refinery; electricity prices and the Group’s participation in competitive electricity market; investment activities of the Group to foreign countries; roadmap for blending, trading and use of gasoline e5 Ron 92…

Mr.Nguyen Xuan Son – Chairman and Group member emphasized determination to focus all resources before the deadline to complete the key tasks in 2014, actively contributing to the construction and development of the country.
