PVI Re held year-end summation conference for 2020, implementation of 2021 plan and employee meeting 2021

On 19th January 2021, PVI Reinsurance Joint Stock-Corporation (PVI Re) successfully held year-end summation conference for 2020, implementation of 2021 plan. The Employee Meeting 2021 was also be held on that day at PVI Tower, 1st Pham Van Bach Street, Cau Giay District, Hanoi.

Participating in the meeting, PVIRe was honored to welcome the presence of Leaders from PVI Holdings, PVI Insurance Corporation and PVI AM. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Trinh Anh Tuan – CEO of PVI Re and Mrs. Le Thi Thuy – President of the Union, Deputy CEO of PVI Re.

In 2020, Covid-19 pandemic has affected all economy sectors including insurance and reinsurance business activities globally. In that context, with the background of a diversified, flexible and effective business policy in the right direction and the efforts of the Board of Directors and all employees PVI Re still achieved a lot of outstanding achievements.

In 2020, PVI Re recorded the highest profit before tax since the establishment of the company: VND 180.9 billion, equal to 112.8% of the planned target and 6.1% higher than last year. In which, profit from reinsurance business activities reached VND 56.4 billion, equal to 112.5% of the planned target and 18% higher than 2019. Profit from financial activities reached VND 124.5 billion, equal to 112.9% of the planned target while the interest rate sharply decreased in 2020. The structure of inward reinsurance premium revenue segmented by service source has shifted towards the right direction.

On the morning of December 24th, 2020, 72.8 million shares of PVI Re with ticker “PRE” was officially listed on Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX) with the reference price of VND 20,000/share, marking an important milestone in the business and governance growth of PVI Re. Following this milestone will be a new stage of development with many opportunities to increase financial capacity, improve the governance model, as well as enhance transparency based on core values which have been built and developed by PVI Re during 10 years in the market.

In addition, in 2020, PVI Re has focused on developing information technology systems for internal administration as well as bringing added value to customers through the implementation of online insurance payment system.

The Conference also seriously reviewed the deficiencies in 2020 to find solutions to overcome and to complete business goals in 2021. Regarding the direction and tasks in 2021, PVI Re needs to continue promoting the achievements in 2020, overcoming the shortcomings and limitations, at the same time focusing on implementing the solutions in Business, Investment, Management, Human Resources, Information Technology as set out in the report of PVI Re's CEO presented at the Conference.
